Kevin Andrews is still suspicious about Haneef because “he wanted to get out of Australia as soon as possible” and hence the reasons for cancelling his visa were still valid. Oh really? That makes sense. I’d want to stay in a country that detained me using at the very least flimsy, if not maliciously manufactured, evidence. I’d want to stick around here rather than see my wife and new-born baby - who incidentally I hadn’t seen because I’d been arrested and detained. My conclusion - Kevin Andrews remains a total idiot, this government still believes it can act outside of the law, and that’s it is time for it to go.
