Enough Rope with Dave Hughes

I first saw Dave Hughes doing standup with Amy at the Armadale – must be seven years ago now. Amy’s cousin ran the Tuesday comedy night and I
saw a lot of damn fine gigs – Merrick’s (of Merrick & Russo fame) first gig not being one of them. But a regular hit of Greg Fleet was pretty damn cool. And then there was Dave Hughes – this odd looking, weird guy who was massively self-deprecating and mocked his relationships and a lack of a sex life. Now at 33 he still a bloody funny man. Denton’s interview with him was simply brilliant. Made my evening of illness much more pleasant.

P.S. In case anyone doesn’t know – Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono a scary chap. He served a number of tours in East Timor under Wiranto. Then
was Chief of Territorial Affairs in the TNI whilst the final bloodshed occurred in East Timor. He not a nice fellow and now looks to be President of Indonesia. Worrying.

And that Pauline Hanson interview! An absolute gem that man is. I keep wondering recently how John Howard would fare on Enough Rope. Too gutless to agree I suspect.

Hi, I’m on a break at work so catching up reading some of the blogs i haven’t been able to follow during the campaign…

I saw the interview with Hughes and thought it was great viewing – he’s a very funny man and couldn’t help joking all the way through it, but i thought he also managed to give us some excellent insights into his life and personality.

    God I love Enough Rope…
