Is it better to be the monkey or the organ grinder?

Some things are left better unsaid. Some things are best forgotten. Some memories hover between fiction and truth. No matter. No matter how carefully you collect the memories some boxes are better left closed and buried in the back of closets. No matter how much effort is exerted in collecting the memories, in packing that box, in pushing down the lid and smoothing your hands over the surface of that closed box. Finally it might be time to let this thing go. But I’ll keep the box. I’ll always keep the box.
