Yes today it has been the site ‘o broken dreams. Many busted things as a result of upgrading EE. Silly me. I should have taken the experience of the weekend when abolsutely nothing wanted to compile right as a basis and just not touched anything. 
And fixed my sendmail problem. Which seems like a good thing until you see the ten problems fixing the intitial problem generated. I am giving up on the chroot thing for Sendmail. I’ll just set the SAFE FILE ENVIRONMENT and stop Sendmail writing to pipes and the like. Not totally secure but not as annoying as the limitations of the full chroot. Personally though I am going to stick with Postfix. If I wasn’t writing the book I would never have touched Sendmail ever again. 
Goddam. Stuck on a bloody chroot problem with sendmail. The fucking thing doesn’t seem to want to see /etc/passwd in the chroot jail – when it can see the sendmail.cf file in the mail subdirectory. And no it’s not a permissions problem. The permissions on both files are identical. Driving me nuts. If anyone knows how to fix:

You know I don’t mind when people disagree with me. Indeed I love a good argument. But what annoys me is people (who often can’t spell and even more often appear to lack a basic grasp of grammar) telling me I am an idiot for some viewpoint I’ve expressed. Now I don’t mind being called an idiot – hell I may even be one *consults my partner* Yep. Appears sometimes I am. What annoys me is that these people do it without even defending their viewpoint with some form of intellectual argument. Grow up. What is the old adage? If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all? Well in the confines of this space – if you can’t say anything intelligent then don’t say anything at all.

First chapter done and edited. Editor very happy = Kartar very happy. Now into second chapter. This one going a bit slower but have been working on a schedule of not stopping until I have completed a particular section. Hopefully will finish off 1/2 this weekend.
